Dr. Jeanetta D. Sims is CEO and founder of Cajun Queen Press, LLC. As a 30-time, award winning, Hall of Fame educator, scholar, and poet, she has extensive experience in writing, editing, marketing, and publishing. She has authored more than 100 publications in the form of academic journal articles, books, book chapters, conference proceedings, and funded research projects. Dr. Jeanetta is known for having a love of books, a way with words, and a fascination with knowledge pauses, which she calls times when authors pause to account for what they think they know. Dr. Jeanetta delights in coaching authors to successfully launch publications that are personally fulfilling while helping nudge and nurture readers in the areas that matter most for living a meaningful life.

For more than 30 years, Jeanetta has worked collaboratively with others in a variety of marketing and communication roles within corporate and higher education settings. She has served as a manuscript reviewer for multiple journals, on editorial research boards, and as a journal editor. Her written work has received awards from: the National Communication Association (NCA) including NCA’s Black Caucus, African American Communication and Culture Division, Communication and Social Cognition Division, and Public Relations Division; the Central States Communication Association, the Marketing Management Association, and the North American Management Society. Dr. Jeanetta served as the Contributing Literary Writer for Minnesota’s Black Community in the 21st Century, which received the 2021 Academy of Human Resource Development’s R. Wayne Pace HRD Book of the Year Award.

Dr. Jeanetta earned her Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, her master’s degree from Abilene Christian University, and her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Christian University, where she was recognized as the 2023 Distinguished Alumnae of the Year. She is accredited in public relations (APR), and was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame. in 2023.
